About Us
Homecoming Harvest is a Black Woman-Owned and operated Growing Collective. We believe through collective organizing of gardening and farming we can build sovereign food systems, community, and self-healing connected to land. The definition of homecoming is the act of returning to your home or to a place that is like your home. Whether that be family reunions, Historically Black College & Universities, high schools, family reunions or just being home for the holidays, homecoming has a special meaning that creates a source of fulfillment and healing to the human spirit. Homecoming Harvest is a return to the process and period of gathering – whether that be crops, food memories that connect the next generation to their past, to trying recipes that have been passed down over the years. Homecoming Harvests are like family reunions that help collective members and children form and strengthen identities about who they are.
Our collective strategy is multifaceted, we specialize in organizing communities around in season growing, consumption, sharing, and preserving food harvests. Our pop up mobile harvest markets are a conduit to connect with our organizers, drop off/pick up harvest swaps, learn tips & tricks and most importantly harvest tastings!
Our Roots
Plant a Garden Join a Movement. Homecoming Harvest is dedicated to radical self-care centering communities using farming as our birthright and cooperative economics as a strategy to be used to empower, equip, and re-energize our connection to land, community, and improving health. This is about radical self care offering a relevant institution that empowers urban farmers, growers and gardeners to establish a healing space where we can learn to grow and consume high quality food, self-heal, and build community.
We do this by providing in season growing guides connected to recipes, a harvest sharing swap tool, harvest dinners and classes in food preservation (canning & dehydration). African-American farmland healing tours, coming soon!

Through the roots of a farming legacy, Homecoming Harvest is a health movement that activates Soldiers of the Soil who are everyday community, backyard gardeners and aspiring farmers to be change makers in their lives and communities — through growing food.
